Software Development for Miami Companies That Work Across Borders

For a Miami company that trades across borders, orders can come from one country, freight can leave for another, and invoices can arrive in two currencies. We build the custom software that sits between your company and those partners, so your team stops retyping and reconciling by hand.

What software does a Miami trade or regional headquarters business need?

Usually software that handles the cross-border parts its off-the-shelf systems do not: reading shipping and customs documents from foreign partners, matching them to the order, reconciling payments across currencies, and giving partners a portal instead of an email thread. Code and Trust scopes that work in a 90-minute AI workflow audit. Most large builds are fixed-price, with a monthly retainer after launch.

A city that trades with the hemisphere

The Miami-Dade Beacon Council describes Miami as a bridge between Latin America, the Caribbean and the U.S., and counts 1,200 multinational corporations operating Latin American headquarters in the city. PortMiami calls itself the Cargo Gateway of the Americas. Behind those labels are smaller firms too: forwarders, distributors, importers and service companies whose margins depend on moving paperwork as fast as the goods.

Software for these firms often lands in one of three places:

  • →Documents from partners abroad. Commercial invoices, packing lists and bills of lading arrive as PDFs and photos in many layouts. Software reads them, checks each value against the purchase order, and sends anything that does not match to a person. The approach is the one on our logistics page, applied to trade paperwork.
  • →Money in more than one currency. Invoices, deposits and payouts that need to be matched and reported, connected to QuickBooks or Stripe where those already run the books.
  • →Partner portals. One place where a supplier or customer in another country can see an order's status and upload what is missing, instead of a dozen email threads.

Florida's data breach statute, designed in rather than bolted on

Section 501.171 of the Florida Statutes requires a business holding Floridians' personal information in electronic form to take reasonable measures to protect it. After a breach, it requires notice to affected individuals no later than 30 days after the breach is determined, and notice to the Department of Legal Affairs when 500 or more people in Florida are affected.

A business cannot meet a 30-day clock if nobody can tell which records were exposed. On regulated builds we scope compliance and privacy requirements in the design phase with your counsel, which in practice means knowing where personal information lives, who can reach it, and keeping the access logs that would answer "who was affected" quickly.

How an engagement works

01

Workflow Audit

We map your existing processes against current AI capabilities in the 90-minute AI workflow audit, identifying exactly where automation creates measurable ROI. The audit is complimentary when it is bundled with a larger build and available as a paid one-off on its own.

02

Build Sprint

A scoped build against a written scope. Prototype, staging, and deployment milestones are agreed in the written scope. Most large builds are fixed-price, with a monthly retainer after launch.

03

Launch + Support

Deployment and handover. Post-launch support and maintenance are scoped per engagement.

Common questions from Miami businesses

Can software read shipping documents from our partners in Latin America?

Yes, including scans and photos in layouts it has not seen before. Extracted values are compared with your order record and anything that does not match goes to your team to confirm, so a misread number that disagrees with the order is caught before it reaches a customs filing or an invoice.

We already run QuickBooks and Stripe. Do we have to change them?

No. Both are systems we have integrated in production, and we build around what you already run. The audit is where we confirm what each system's API allows before anything is priced.

What does Florida law require if our system is breached?

Section 501.171 requires notice to affected individuals within 30 days of determining a breach, and notice to the state Department of Legal Affairs when 500 or more Floridians are affected. Your counsel decides how it applies; we design the system so the facts needed for that notice can be found quickly.
