Development Process with COO Chris Neary

Code and TrustUpdated October 8, 2026

Making the development process easier to follow

This archived video features Chris Neary, introduced as Code and Trust COO when it was recorded, on the topic of the development process. The companion guide below offers questions a client can use to understand how work moves from an idea to a release.

The following is an editorial companion to the archived video, not a transcript.

Look for clear handoffs

A development plan is easier to evaluate when each stage has an understandable output. Discovery might produce a problem statement and a list of assumptions. Design can make a workflow visible before it is built. Development and testing then need a shared definition of what the software should do and how it will be checked.

  • Ask what decisions you will need to make, who prepares them, and when feedback is most useful.
  • Agree on where scope, open questions, and changes will be recorded so decisions are easy to find later.
  • Discuss how the team will demonstrate working software and who will review it against real user tasks.

Before release, clarify responsibilities for data, access, support, and follow-up improvements. These questions help you assess a proposed process; the exact stages and deliverables should be agreed for your project.
